God’s Guidance

Psalm 37:23-24

“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”

What have you failed in? I fail every day in something. The faster, in life, that I go, the harder I fall. I never take the time to rest or to seek God’s peace.

Peace can be found if we stop chasing ourselves in circles and sit with Him. We pray and listen to His Word and there, we find that peace to help us go on.

In a lounge chair, at the kitchen table, relaxed in bed. Hold the bible, a devotion or a prayer book. Read, meditate and listen.

When you are feeling stronger, continue in your daily routine but stop and pray if a decision needs to be made.

I took off the other morning, with my dogs, on our walk through the marsh. My head was full, stuffed, overburdened with negativity. I couldn’t settle any one thought. The mass of pessimism kept turning round and round in my mind nonstop. I walked, stumbled over roots, snapped commands at the dogs and I was angry, defeated and depressed.

Tell me, what good is a beautiful morning, warmer spring temperatures, and a marsh full of creatures when you are feeling so hateful inside.

I wasn’t being very grateful, I didn’t even like myself.

I sat down on a log to watch the rising sun, I let the pups run around to sniff nature and I took a good look around me and a long look inside me.

Lord, soften my heart. Help me to appreciate what you have made available to me and, please, let me find your absolute love and infinite peace.

“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Find your peace, in every situation.

Find God.

Let Him guide you through it all.

Peace.
